Swadeshi Jagran Manch Tamil Nadu
சுதேசி விழிப்புணர்வு இயக்கம் தமிழ்நாடு — the Tamil Nadu wing of Swadeshi Jagran Manch, the national movement for economic self-reliance (Swadeshi), local enterprise and “Vocal for Local”.
Who we are
Swadeshi Jagran Manch (SJM) was founded on 22 November 1991 at Nagpur under the guidance of Dattopant Thengadi, to promote economic self-reliance and an India-centred model of development. In Tamil Nadu the movement works across all 38 districts with entrepreneurs, MSMEs, artisans, farmers, students, women and consumers.
This website is mainly in Tamil. It brings together guidance on MSME loans and subsidies, a free directory of Swadeshi (made in Tamil Nadu) products and brands, Geographical Indication (GI) products, news and analysis on Tamil Nadu’s economy, events and Swadeshi melas, and programmes for youth and women.
What we stand for
- Buy local — prefer goods and services made in India, and in our own region first.
- Support small producers — MSMEs, artisans, weavers and farmers are the backbone of Tamil Nadu’s economy.
- Value addition and exports — help local products reach national and world markets.
- Digital self-reliance — Indian apps, UPI and control over our own data.
- A human-centred economy — the “Third Way”, beyond both state control and consumerism.
